Academic Achievement
During the 2008-09 school
year, WRCS students showed their academic process
in a number of ways.
- The Middle School
Battle of the Books team, competing against
public and private schools alike, won the
Newport News city-wide championship.
- WRCS students placed
2nd and 5th in the Annual Spelling Bee competition
hosted by Calvary Classical School.
- Warwick River Christian
School students took the Stanford 10 test
in May of this year. They performed well,
with some really wonderful scores. The average
median grade equivalent for 3rd grade students
indicated they were performing on the 6th
grade level, 6th grade students tested into
10th grade on average, and average 8th grade
scores put them at the post-high school level.
